Reel Geek’s Trailer Talk- Avengers: Infinity War

Wow. Wow. Holy crap that is all kinds of awesome. We’ve been waiting for months for this, since we first heard about the trailer that was shown at Comicon, and here we are, our first look at Avengers: Infinity War is here. If you haven’t seen it yet, or want to watch it again, because you know you do, here it is.

So much to digest here. First of all, whomever says that Marvel movies don’t have iconic music need to look no further than the Avengers theme, to show that that’s not entirely true. The use of that theme in this trailer brought chills down my spine. Perfect, and iconic theme.

This is what happens when you take 10 years and 18 movies to build a cinematic universe, we have characters we watched develop, stories that took a slow burn to build to this moment, that’s proper story building.

Thanos looks different and kind of weird tbh but this feels like the wait for him to do something has been well worth it. He just takes out Iron Man like it’s nothing, and rips the Infinity Stone from Vision like he’s James Woods and it’s a piece of candy. That’s two stones down, three more to go. He just better not kill Spider-Man, we finally have a good one here, don’t ruin it for us.

So many character interactions I look forward to, I’m hoping for an Awesome Facial Hair Bros moment between Stark and Strange for one.

Captain America is back, with a beard, looking like a badass, New Hulkbuster armor and way more awesomeness than I could count in this trailer, I’m still geeking out about it.

It’s funny though, even though this movie is called Infinity War, I feel it has more inspiration in it from Jonathan Hickman’s Infinity storyline, which was one of the precursors to 2016’s Secret Wars, which changed the Marvel Universe forever.

That being said I’m still holding out that that’s what the next movie will be, the top secret (not Infinity War part 2) story that brings this chapter of the MCU to a close will be Secret Wars, some version of it, and we will have the Fantastic Four, and the X-Men home onscreen alongside the rest of the heroes, mark my words.
